The recent announcements to the dramatic cuts on the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme and changes to the guidance for the establishment of Academies have left many educational delivery teams in a state of flux.
The challenges for local authorities, in terms of delivery and management of their contracts remains the same, albeit under a more watchful eye in these cost conscious times i.e. best value for public purse and avoidance of delays, cost overruns and poor educational and financial outcomes.
Now perhaps more than at any other time, the pressure on teams to have the right knowledge and skills is expected, with the added pressure of people taking on more responsibilities as staffing cuts take hold.
We believe that giving greater attention to the needs of the delivery teams is one of the key routes to achieving greater efficiencies and value for money for the public sector in all its programmes.
We have developed several training programmes and interventions that focus either directly on the challenges faced by local authorities seeking to deliver large educational projects, or are common to public sector staff in the drive for efficiencies.
